Because we take seriously the covenant relationship between a local church and its members, Redemption Hill Church seeks to approach membership thoughtfully and biblically.
Prospective members are encouraged to carefully consider the biblical purpose of church membership, the responsibilities and privileges that accompany it, and the mutual commitments described in this document. Membership is not merely a personal decision but a covenant relationship entered into before God and His people.
In keeping with the teaching of Scripture, covenant members should be believers in Jesus Christ who have publicly identified with Him through believer's baptism, or who desire to pursue baptism in obedience to Christ's command (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41).
Those who desire to unite with Redemption Hill Church may do so by affirming their faith in Christ and desire for covenant membership with an elder and by signing the Covenant of Mutual Care and Protection. In doing so, they publicly identify with this local church and express their desire to participate in its worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, accountability, and mutual care.
We view covenant membership not merely as joining a church, but as entering into a biblically defined relationship of mutual care, encouragement, accountability, and protection under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
